Larry grew up in the rich musical environment of the San Francisco Bay area. He played bass in his own groups since the 7th grade and was influenced by his older brother, Cliff, who was playing in a band with Mike Shrieve (Santana) and Lee Oscar (War).
Larry went to college on a gymnastics scholarship where he studied music and played in various ensembles including the University Orchestra. After graduating from college he played in the Los Angeles area for 10 years, recording and playing clubs in the local scene as well as studying music at the Dick Grove school of jazz. Many of the players in his groups went on to play with big named acts, but in 1978, Larry moved up to Mendocino to get away from the crowded city life and studied music with Kiyoshi Tocunaga.
Currently, Larry is living in the San Francisco bay area and owns The Music Tailor. He and his staff of talented composers write music for gymnastics, ice skating, aerobics and fitness. They work with top National competitors in all fields.
On the side, he writes and arranges original music. His two latest cd's are an experiment with relaxation environments. The reviews of his work have been excellent, as there is a need for this type of music. The future holds many possibilites of new styles and experimentation.
