Artist History
BONEYMAN Biography;
To reign at the top of the Hip-Hop game, it is never enough to have just your lyrical expertise in your nap sac of skills. You must take charge, man the boards, and take direct control of your own musical content. Since doing just that, Long Island's very own Boneyman has delivered verses on countless street mix-tapes (including appearances on the world famous DJ Kay Slay mix-tapes) that have appealed to the underground while whetting the appetites of the mainstream. For more than eight years, Boney has met the requirements of an ever evolving Hip-Hop scene with great production paired with blistering hot lyricism.
In February of 2002, New York's underground scene was turned upside down with the independent release of Boneyman's full-length debut "TWO-FACE" (via D'Abyss Inc.). Tracks like "Two-Face" and "Mamma Say" (featuring J-Record’s very own Olivia) proved Boneyman's ability to make music for the masses, while tracks like "Same'ol Same'ol" and "Real Sweet" have kept him in the hunt for hip-hop's underground crown.
With much hard work and through relentless street promotion the album has sold 1000+ copies via the internet and street sales combined.
Boneyman's music has recently opened up to a new fan base, with the assembling of his second full length album High-Graid (expected late December '02). The self-titled track "High Graid," the radio friendly first single, has been featured on dozens of radio stations from Freeport, New York to Fresno, California. The tracks infectious elementary song-sounding chorus fused with Boney's vocal versatility show that the High Graid album is going to be ready for heavy rotation. "I haven't changed my ways, just the formula. There are a lot more ears I want my music to get to, and I'm going to work hard for it to get there…" explains Boney.
"TWO-FACE is the kind of album that only Boneyman could make". One listen and it is easy to see why he has secured his place as one of the most versatile, talented, and accomplished unsigned artists today. From rap to soul to reggae Boney's music is ready to achieve critical, musical and commercial breakthrough status. Boney's music doesn't just make the grade... it makes the High Graid.................................................................................................................................................................................................................
I.F. Biography:
Like the saying goes "slow and steady wins the race." Over the course of their four-year career I.nvincible F.orces have slowly and steadily built a solid foundation of skills and fans. Through their combined "forces" the group has proudly provided the final touches on their powerful debut album "Knowledge Cypher- Justice Strikes Back." I.F. is ready to tear the roof off in their own unique militaristic way.
I.nvincible F.orces got their start in 1998 when the two New York-based members of the group: Abyss and Jesus combined their solo efforts. “When we recorded our first track together, 'Look Into My Eyes,' it was obvious that we had the same military mind state, the fit was perfect" explains Abyss. The song went on to calmly work its way on to countless underground mix-tapes from LA to NY.
The duo has traversed three major corners of the entertainment industry, making powerful impressions in theatre, film and music.
Abyss won the acclaim of the hip-hop scene in New York with the first ever "Hip-Hopera" in Troy, New York. The event sold-out Troy's West Hall, and received rave-reviews from all who attended. Plans are currently taking shape for the performance of a second, newly written play, to be performed in Upstate New York.
I.F. has also been included in a behind the scenes film produced by HipHopMovie.com, due to be released late 2002. The film has received major distribution and features hip-hop stars such as Ja Rule, Fat Joe, Jay- Z and many more.
In 2001 Abyss and Jesus independently (released and) sold 2,000 copies of their EP (a CD that was enhanced with a music video to their underground classic 'Look Into My Eyes'), which was followed by their 2002 full-length debut "Justice Strikes Back." The sales from the EP were funneled back into the recording of the album, whose quality (both sound and sharp lyrical content) is unparalleled.
"This album is a more mature version of what we did on our EP. We have put a lot of hard work in to this..." says I.F. member Jesus and underground fans have responded extremely well to their insightful and powerful message. The increase of both fan-base and album sales since the release of "Justice Strikes Back" attest to the success of their efforts which have brought thousands of unique listeners to their web-site, and air play in clubs as well as countless college radio stations.
There is no doubt that after four-years of hard work, blood, sweat, and tears Invincible Forces are ready to give the world a chance to soak in the provocative thoughts of one of hip-hop's most best kept secrets.
