Artist History
The idea for The Hawthornes started out in France
about a year ago as a death-surf band, in concept.
However, refugees from former punk bands,
Andy (Jerk Store), Drew (Ten Cents Slick,
The Terribles) and Jesse (Iteza, 5 Days Ahead,
Seven Stars Faded) instead decided to go about
things in a more serious manner (arguably) and
form an instrumental surf-rock trio. Playing a
variety of punk and hardcore shows on a frequent
basis, The Hawthornes moved from their friends'
basements to the main stage, in a raging blur of
malt liquor. Under the deadline of certain breakup
in the end of the summer of 2002, with Jesse
moving to Midtown NYC, Andy moving to
god-knows-where, and Drew most likely
(but who can really predict??) getting arrested,
The Hawthornes plan to create as much damage
necessary, all in the name of Surf. |
