Artist description
"Swing en 4" is a musical ensemble founded in 1998, in San José- Costa Rica, under the concept of a modern chamber music ensemble. It shows a well-balanced mix of classical, folkloric, electroacustic and jazz music idioms; but especially focused on the thriving force and richness of african heritage in the Americas.
Due to the experience and academic musical training of the group members, "Swing en 4" is a serious contribution to the cultural-musical development of Costa Rica towards Latin-America and the entire world.
Among other projects this quartet is looking for collaborations with other accomplished professional musicians in national and international level. "Swing en 4" has done recordings and concerts with a variety of musicians, played for movie soundtracks and performed both its own versions of well-known works and original compositions.
On June 2001, the group succesfully performed on their first international tour (Germany). Their first commercial Cd is going to be released in 2002. |
