Artist History
Petting Zoo is a trio of the Mt. Pleasant areas' finniest. With heavy metal
tones and melodic fills they pump out a full rocking experience.
The group started out as a jam band for both Marcus Johnson (guitar/vocals)
and Jesse Schmucker (drums/percussion)were they experimented with different sounds
and then started to collaborate with other musicians. After a few changes
in the layout they came across a very talented but shy guy who is now the
bassest of the band, Lucas Stoltz (bass). Lucas brought in his own feel of
jazz and funk into the group giving them a very divisive sound.
The group then started writting songs together by running off each others
energy giving birth to such songs as Funk Song and the Milkman (which are
crowd favorites at the shows).
After a few months the group went into the studio to record a few demos.
With positive results from others they continued to play shows and even
went up to North Carolina and played a few shows up there. The group also
gained some attention from the papers (you can read one of the articles lower
down labeled "petting: the rocking sound of mt. pleasant youth").
The band is now currently playing shows and writting new songs for their
debut ablum that is hopefully coming out in the spring of 2003. If you have
