Artist History
On May 19th 1977, Vince Cheney was born the son of Ann & Ed Cheney in Columbus Mississippi. Still young in his career, Vince Cheney has lived a life similar to most bluesmen. He picked up music at the age of 6 and started his first band at age 13, "AllyCatz". Growing up in a home where his parents pulled most of the slack soon ended at age 7, when his home was burned to the ground, loosing everything he owned. At this time lil Vince Cheney was destined for the blues.
In the last 10 years Vince has played with many blues greats. He has footed the bill with such talent as blues legend Willie J Foster and lil Bill Wallace, who's known for helping BB King transfer from gospel to blues. Vince chooses sky-high talent to perform with. He has shared band members with Little Milton, Bobby Rush, John Lee Hooker, BB King, RL Burnside, T-Model Ford, Freddie King, and many more. I know bluesmen that have been famous for 30 years and still haven't played with such great talent.
Vince plays mainly in the southeast US today. Coming back to reside between Memphis and the Mississippi delta. He is currently being called "today's most soulful delta harp player". He has earned the respect he has gotten, and deserves more than he is currently getting. He ask for me not to brag on him a lot, but he is truly a sight to see perform. Vince we are glad to work with you and hope to stay right at your side.
WARNING!!!!
Vince Cheney is NOT another one of them Little Walter copy cats!!! |
