Artist History
Mike McCulloch couldn't make up his mind.
Since he was a child, he'd been influenced from a variety of music that turned him on. His family was very musically inclined and his father, a jazz pianist, taught him to play when he was only two. Jazz and ragtime piano were Mike's true roots. But being the youngest of four, Mike's older siblings soon gave him more influences 'corrupting' him with anything from The Carpenters and Barry Manilow to The Eagles and CCR to Kansas and Styx to Rush and Iron Maiden. Mike also had a deep affection for classical music and film scores. The combination of all these influences later made him an extraordianry session player, playing almost any genre on any instrument. This diversity also made it difficult to hold together a regular band, so The Mystro Project was born. This allowed Mike to helm the music and incorporate the talents of many.
Mystro Productions is the company Mike created to not only perform his vast library of material, but to offer services to other musicians, from composition to arrangement to transcription.
"Mystro", by the way, is Mike's given nickname by the friends with which he's worked so long. He's proud to sport it. |
