Artist History
Suzana Da Camara was born in Canada, the daughter of two portuguese parents. She spent almost every summer in the Azore Islands (offthe coast of Portugal), consequently she has been influenced by their music and their culture. her singing career began at an early age wit hher participation in choirs and plays, and has resulted in the release of her first Cd entitled Dorje.
Suzana is a graduate of the music Industry Arts Program in London Ontario where she recieved two nominations for best performance in the program. During the final year, she teamed up with Mike Dell, another MIA graduate, and together they began writing many of the songs that appear on the CD.
In July of 2001, a radio announcer in the Azores heard some of Suzana's songs and convinced her to record a full length album, saying; "Tracks of this quality would send CD's flying off the shelves". Upon her return to Canada, she and Mike began recording, and by December 2001, their project was complete. Suzana and Mike returned to the Azores early in 2002 where they conducted several for various newspapers, magazines (Acorianissima), and major radio stations including the RDP (Radiodifuaso Portuguesa)
By spring 2002, it is their plan to perform to Canadian aduiences and become a regular in the Canadian music scene |

Press Reviews
"With the number of female artists releasing product these days, it has become impossible to find a superlative that hasn't been attributed to at least one of them. From 'haunting' lyrics to 'breathtaking' vocals we have heard about 'exciting' young talents who are 'destined' to succeed on the world stage. Well you can put away your dictionaries for this CD by Suzana Da Camara because it defies description. That's not surprising because Suzana is one of a kind herself." --Review by Terry McManus, Professor Music Industry Arts Program, Fanshawe College, London Ontario
