Artist description
In the state of Singapore, it is hard not to ignore historical, social and political
factors that surround us. Surpassing all restrictions, the only true outlet
to stress our critique of the society based upon vernacular opinions
is through creativity.
For SINK, that creativity comes in the form of loud and raw music.
Drawing influences from various punk and hardcore bands, SINK sounds
almost like an amalgamation of Black Flag and Sex Pistols, maybe with
more tenacity and ferocity.
With drummer Subash and guitarist Cheewee joining the original
members, vocalist Adrian and bassist Jason, SINK has finally .
evolved to what it is today after a few bouts of lineup changes.
SINK finally recorded their eponymous debut EP in February 2002.
Seven songs were recorded, polished and mixed in its entirety
in a span of a week at TNT studio with Boy, a well-known
veteran studio engineer in the Singapore music scene.
With that debut EP, SINK will continue to hone its craft,
aspiring to see their true results one day. That the under-
lying values of its music reflect a true society based upon
individual freedom and voluntary cooperation. In the truest
sense of anarchism, it is order from the bottom up, not
disorder imposed from the top down by a certain group of
bureaucrats. In other words, just to state the obvious,
it is for the current system to SINK.
