"AGENT ORANGE GO UNDERGROUND"
The Northside band Agent Orange has been making waves on the competitive Dublin music scene. Formed a little less than two years ago, the five Marino lads have been finally enjoying a litle positive feedback which they deserve.
They recently reached a spot in the top 75 bands in the national Hotpress/Bacardi Plugged Band of the Year competition (the final 30 to be announced by the end of January, fingers crossed boys!).
If you are lucky enough to own, or to have listened to their first EP 'Straight Lines' you will understand that there is finally the potential here for an indie/rock group to break the mould in an industry that still has its heart set on selling yet more soulless, manufactured boy bands, pop idols and popstars.
The lyrics are surprisingly strong minded and thought provoking, delivered by lead vocalist, Johnathan Jacques. Adding backbone to the band are brothers Karl and Paul Price on guitars. Completing the guitar line-up is bassist Johnny McCauley. Sitting in the background holding it all together on drums is Andy Kenny.
Up and coming dates include Smyth's of Fairview on February 9 and Eamonn Dorans in March. Watch out for the 'Get you Heart's Out' EP - it promises to be a winner. For more info on the band you can email: agentorangedc@email.com.
