Artist History
Lisa MacDonald stands out as a writer, composer, and musician whose abilities seem to be a gift from the heavens. Lisa has been a classically trained pianist since she could remember (her first national competition was at the age of six), and she has studied at UCLA with such notables as producer Lee Curreri, the keyboard player from the television show Fame. Today, Lisa is recognized by music industry heavyweights for her polished craft. Her sparkling and anthemic country song, You See Through Me is a perfect example of the otherworldly inspiration that has taken Lisa from recording obscurity to publishing contract. Her rock songs such as Shes the One and pop songs such as Another Day exemplify her versatility in musical expression. Houses such as Deep Gap Publishing and Weaver of Words have signed Lisa, an effortless musician and a savvy professional. It is only a matter of time before you hear her songs gracing the set lists of artists in Los Angeles, Nashville, television and film! After gently setting down her musical artistry in favor of making a living in business, her steady ascents into the business world were quickly demolished by the infamous chain of layoffs in the year 2000. As prospects for Lisa came crashing down, so did her hopes at music. While starving in her San Francisco Market Street apartment, the piano ivories would have to wait for another time. Lisa mustered another attempt at business with a French software company only to face unemployment again. It was at this time that a critical chain of events in the year 2001 sparked her current royal flush of fortune. After moving south of the City to the Peninsula to start her own consulting business, Lisa responded to an online dating ad on an amused whim. This whim brought her into a friendship with Andy Luce and his brother Tom Luce of the San Francisco band LUCE. Tom Luce immediately recognized her strong songwriting skills and sparked the collaboration with his producer Adam Rossi. With friends and collaborators such as Matt Blackett of LUCE, Hillary Hightower, the plethora of talented bay area musicians and Adam Rossi, Lisa has plenty of divine assistance to help channel her inner muses. To those hoping to channel their own muses, Lisa believes that there is a reason for everything. Trust the moment, and retrospect will show. |
