Artist History
Damn Seagulls is a melodic punk rock band with
a little taste of soul from Helsinki, Finland.
On spring 2002 the members of Damn Seagulls have
played 5 years together, except the organ player
Jani, who joined the band later 2,5 years ago
when the name was changed to Damn Seagulls.
4/5 of the members are turning 19 this year.
Boys have been in the studio 6 times, and in
April 2002 they’re going to Jrgen Hendlmeier’s
(produced also The Flaming Sideburns’ “Hallelujah
Rock’n’ Rollah”) Kick Out The Jams studio.
As a co-producer will be Jukka Suksi aka Ski
Williamson also known from The Flaming Sideburns.
The mission is to record 4 songs, and Damn
Seagulls are now looking for someone to release
‘em.
At the start of Juni 2000, the band got to the
finals of the finnish Radio City’s demo band
contest, to play in the legendary finnish rock
club Tavastia. Only 6 were taken from over 500
competitors. Some of the guys were still 16 years
old. Damn Seagulls did an interview on air and
during the contest their music was also played
on the station. Also finnish national radio
station Radiomafia has played some of the band’s
songs.
Damn Seagulls has been praised for their
energetic, entertaining and sincere fun full-of
gigs , which they’ve had a little less than 30.
Exspecially the early years were mostly spent on
learning to play, and boy, they’re hungry now!
April 18th-20th Damn Seagulls is supporting
swedish Maryslim (White Jazz Records) on their
Finland tour.
The ‘Seagulls has played with bands like No
Shame, Minus SF, Branded Women, Endstand,
Pushrods, Hero Dishonest, swedish Psychopunch
(White Jazz Records) and The Flaming Sideburns.
Some day these bands will mention the name Damn
Seagulls in THEIR info.
