Artist History
Born in 1988, he began writing music in 1994,
for solo piano. In 1998, after writing about
30 songs, he recorded his first CD, titled "Ben's
Best but Better". Yeah, he was pretty bad at
naming stuff back then. In 2000, he released a
followup album, the self-produced "Blue Mood".
Following the success of this CD, he performed
in many local venues, including one where he
opened for jazz great Maynard Ferguson.
His 3rd CD, "Hands", released in early 2001,
experimented with sythesized tones, but still
retained the traditional New-Agey sound that
had become his trademark. In early 2002, a year
later, Ben brought forth his fourth and most
recent CD, "Miles From Home". Unlike the others,
"Miles", produced by Ben with Brian Fulks, played
with new genres of music, ranging from blues to
rock to jazz and back. Multiple instruments were
featured on a Ben Cosgrove CD for the first time:
with the recording techniques used, he was able
to track record. A similar CD, with even more jazz on it is being recorded now. |
