Artist description
Sonando is a latin jazz ensemble based in the San Francisco Bay Area*. The working group is a quartet, occasionally augmented by horns. It can down size to a trio as well.
Sonando’s repertoire is varied and unique, including original arrangements of Jazz standards, Cuban standards, Afro-Cuban Folkloric songs, Latin funk as well as original compositions, all with an eye towards the Jazz and Afro-Cuban traditions and improvisation. The variety of music performed lends itself to sit-down events or danceable shows. * Not to be confused with the group, Sonando, based in Seattle
