Artist History
Vision Quest truly push the boundaries of Hip-Hop music. The two members, Bernard "BMD" Williams (a.k.a. Bernie Williams) and Diriki Mack met in high school. It didn't take long for BMD and Diriki to connect and form one of the most prolific groups to ever come on the scene. After meeting in 1989, BMD & Diriki started their long quest through the music industry. They've worked in radio stations like WBAU in Long Island, NY and recording studios with the likes of Public Enemy and members of the Bomb Squad. In 1995, VQ recorded and released their first single entitled "Soul Clique." After being reviewed by magazines like Billboard, Black Beat, Right On and Gavin, Vision Quest are hailed as being the ones to watch (and listen) for. With the help and push by their manager Bruce Mack (www.mp3.com/brucemack/pbr) and now General Manager of their entertainment/record company Fuzion Entertainment, Vision Quest continued their stride to learn the industy and keep their music on the cutting edge of Hip-Hop. These experiences and this type of exposure to the industry taught BMD and Diriki a lot about how the machine works. Working with live musicians as opposed to relying completely on sampled music is one of the main things that keeps the Vision Quest sound fresh. It's a distinct sound that has been in development for over 10 years. Lyricists. Rappers. Producers. Voice-Over Artists. Entertainment Company Owners. As BMD says, "there's nothing in the world VQ will ever lack!" |
