Artist History Store Bought Lies is an static oriented beat band (static beat for short) from Charleston SC. The whole crazy idea was conceived by the strange but lovable PigBoy on Oct 31, 1997. Originally it was meant to be a short term project for him to explore his musical talents/ideas and "way to get chicks". Unfortunately the chicks never came, but what did was a whole lot of music. While PigBoy did most of the recordings himself, he decided it would be beneficial to throw some "other ideas into the mix" so shortly after he recruited the likes of Justin Jones (JustInSane) to help with guitar. The two recorded the low-fi, low budget, completely underground tape "FiLThy". Slowly by word of mouth the tape began to spread and was enojyed by all that came across it. Next, due to what can only be described as a fit of insanity, PigBoy decided that it would be a "grand" idea to take his show and translate it into a live format. In order to accomplish this though, he would need more people, the first of which was the insane DJ Supa Spy on turntables and samples. Next came the Asian Porn Starr, and the Anonymous Bassist. Initially this idea proved to be a complete disaster, but with a bit more time and practice the live band began to play how it should. After numerous shows, PigBoy retired back into the studio to record the new ep "Good As Dead", released in the fall of 1999/early 2000. Presently he is in the studio finishing up the remix album titled "PuRIfiEd" and working on the bands first full length cd, to be called "SICKO!".
