Artist History
Formed in 1996, Oui*73 quickly built a reputation on the basis of their hypnotic sound and wonderlit live shows-hard candy for the ears and eyes. Touring in support of their critically acclaimed debut, "Princess," Oui*73 have shared the ticket with such bands as: Catherine Wheel, 10,000 Maniacs, Buffalo Tom, Seven Mary Three, The Dambuilders, The Verve Pipe, Moby, Tanya Donnelley and others.Laying claim to a style all their own- Sex, Bullets & Fire Engines is heavy, layered guitar driven tracks undercut with pulsating rhythms that blend seamlessly with softer, atmospheric, lyric smart numbers creating what could be described as a "soundtrack to a fever dream" that will play between your ears for sometime to come.Oui*73 have unleashed their sound in eight states and two countries. From New York, to Chicago and from Toronto to Washington, Oui*73 has played over 125 shows last year also receiving airplay on local commercial and college radio."We tried to push the boundaries and make a record that as a band, we would want to hear," cites vocalist/bassist Richie Coffman. "We try to gauge ourself by asking if this (song) was on the radio, would we A) listen to it and B) Buy it. The answer to that is yes" "It's something we are very proud of".Sex Bullets & Fire Engines will be released November 13th On Mary's Lounge Records & EKO Music, followed by a full North American tour. |
