Artist History Based out of Ottawa - Canada, the band began in summer 1995 with founding members Jason Phillips (drums), William Finn (guitar), and David Bolton (Bass). Later on in winer 1996 Phillip Baldwin (guitar), and Shomir Das (vocals) joined the band to complete the project. In summer 1996 Evolutionfail began playing shows in the Ottawa area at local venues. The response was great from Ottawa fans of metal as Evolutionfail's sound was very different and unique compared to other metal styles. Soon after in October 1996, Evolution's drummer was re-locating, the band decided they should record their material to put out a demo. The result would be a 13 song cassette titled
