Artist description
From from King Crimson to Miles Davis, Pink Floyd to Sun Ra, with a Hawkwind-Santana twist, our music is fully improvised, though you wouldn't know it from listening.
What we make is a hybrid of hard rocking, psychedelic improvisation, with one foot rooted in history, the other reaching for the future.
Fascinating improvised vocals manifest from time to time, from the dark recesses of the mind, or what is left of it, of Zippolean Notynski.
This music is a vampire: It grows in the dark, and perishes in the light. It drinks our blood, it owns our soul, and it promises eternal life. |

Artist History
The first known session by founding members Short and Zippolean, was recorded in 1984. They were known simply as, The Tics.
Nibah began jamming on drums and bass as time went on. Yn joined them in 1993 after playing about 2500 gigs in the real world. DY began the legendary "Kumbaya Sessions" in '97 with an Ovation Pinnacle he later hooked up to some box from hell to create the infamous "Chernobyl Guitar" sound. Leif Eddy, aka Igloo Boy, also started showing up in '97 while still playing professionaly.
dePiTS is now, and forever shall be, recording at Pothole Records in Redmond, WA., USA, just outside Seattle, where they are a local cult favorite.
Live@The Pothole was their first international release.
The other albums, Live@ThePothole v2.1, v3.0 - Music From The Year Zero: vol. 1 and v4.0 - Music From The Year Zero: vol. 2 are now available. Our 5th cd, [alive] x Five dePiTS Live@ThePothole v5.0, has been finished, and our 6th is half way there.
This is a lifetime project, people. Stay with us. |

Press Reviews
The Stranger, July, 1999-- You really won't believe this one: a completely unique sound that defies description. Other than, "Omigod! What the hell was that?" If you can sit still listening to grooves deep enough to shake the planet, you'd better check your pulse: you're probably dead. Look out world, there's something completely different coming out of Seattle, "Grundge Is Dead and We Killed It!", Washington.
From an IUMA posting, Feb, 2001: "First the WTO, now this!" |

Additional Info
