    Artist History
The three members of Deadwood are dorks. The previous sentence was going to be our entire bio but, we’ll elaborate. In ‘97 Eric joined the US Navy & while living in San Diego made demos of songs. With all three members embracing technology MP3s were made, back at home Joe & J.G. checked out the new songs when they were uploaded. We stayed in contact over IM. As time went on the three multi-talented musicians didn’t know they’d end up in a band but, it made for a easy transition since they already knew the songs. Now it’s time to describe the music, pounding drums blah blah blah, the rumble of thunder bass blah blah blah, one guitar that an online reviewer thought was two people blah blah blah, singing screaming & syncopation. We call it acoustic warfare. Blah. This isn’t your typical bio, we’re not a typical band. We take influence from everything between Anthrax to Steely Dan but, if it resembles what others have done we avoid it. We know rock music has been done before, were just taking another approach. That’s what happens when you grow up appreciating the Beatles & classic Motown. Also we didn’t leave out the inescapable southern rock, we love that too. We can’t try to be your favorite band if we sound like everyone else, we dubbed them “clone bands”. Were does all this lead to ? We wanted to make a CD & we used the K.I.S.S. method. In July of ’03 we built a studio in Sunset, SC & started recording an EP titled Live From the Scorpion Lounge. So after a few minutes of conversation eight songs were picked out from the over forty plus that we have. All the tracks are live, one take from the song’s start to finish & it’s not rare to see a Southern Devil Scorpion hence the name. We plan on doing a full length album soon. Until then we hope you dig it & we can’t wait to do it for you live. Thanks for listening

    Press Reviews
A mixture of lofty Pink Floyd-esque guitar parts, brought back to earth by a steady, heavier bass and then grounded by a dualing heavy-metal guitar. The guitar is the ruler of this kingdom. - Mark M. (from the site http://www.listen.com/artdetail.jsp?artistid=35679
