Artist History
Following the breakup of Boston-based emo band Cooper, formerly Cooper F. Carlisle, former frontman Nathan Leigh decided it was time for a change of pace and set off on his own. Armed with an acoustic guitar, a 4 track mixer, and some production training, Nathan sat down and recorded straight for 2 days a collection of songs which had been vetoed by his band. The end result was the album, "A Requiem For Lawrence, Kansas."
Nathan proceeded to work his network of friends and contacts distributing the album for free accross the UConn campus to basically anyone who would listen. He has since been included on CrankSpiv Records 3rd compilation disk, and receives regular air-play on KJAG The Attitude Radio Networks.
In August of 2002, Nathan was contacted by Pal-Tone Records about the possibility of recording a split EP in the winter, and touring to support it. In order to handle the larger gigs, Nathan enlisted several of his friends to join Silent Orbit. The band now consists of Nathan Leigh (Guitar, Keys, Vocals), Mike Wojcicki (Bass, Guitar, Screams), and Scott Price (Drums). They will be doing a mini tour of the North East this fall, with numerous solo acoustic stops by Nathan at coffeehouses and radio stations around the area. |
