Artist description
A straight up UK metal band... Coming across as
fresh and original, Headup combine the raw power
of bands like Pantera and Fear factory, the
speed of slayer, and even the melody of the
Deftones and COC...
Ignore them at your own risk... |

Artist History
Headup were formed in late 1998 with the intention of playing some "proper metal". After several rearrangements, a stable line up was eventually sorted out. Rick Morice (vocals, guitar), Craig Ockwell (bass) and Alex Sincair (drums) became the noisy slab of Yorkshire attitude that is Headup.
Headup have gigged successful all over the country, accruing a good fan base through hard work as well as earning a knats of radio airplay.
They have a reputation for an energetic, entertaining and frighteningly tight live show. Fiercely dedicated to the performance and all aspects of the live show, Headup take no prisoners in their uncompromising and brutal approach. Headup have played with most of them, most notably: - Sona Fariq (The Casbah - Sheffield), Throat (The Wellington Boot - Rotherham) Defenestration (Barfly - Sheffield), and Three Stages of Pain (The Wellington Boot).
The first proper CD demo (Brotherhood) was available as of mid 2001. This was a re-recording of the live favourite, the original being on some previous demos. This has been the "calling card" of Headup, displaying both their potential and maturity. Used mainly to get gigs and satisfy public demand, the band is now looking onwards to use their recent experience and hard work toward an EP. Current plans are to record winter 2002.
Headup are many things - watch them and make up your own mind... just don't expect not to have tinnitus afterwards.
