Artist description Catherine Howland is an innovative, new singer/songwriter from the San Francisco Bay Area. Her performance styles include acoustic (acoustic guitar and voice accompanied by drummer Mikey Baker) and edgy electronic-folk (folktronica): mixing all the elements of her fresh new recordings. Performing and recording with producer, engineer, musician, and songwriter Ryan Hunt (AKA Frogger), Catherine finally had a medium to musically express all of her influences: electronic, folk, bluegrass, and world music. Her engaging lyrics comment of various topics from personal relations to human nature to politics in a poignant, emotional, and often coded way. Her first five song EP demonstrates her broad style. Catherine's chord progressions and voicings are unique and her vocal style is pure, raw, and melodic! She regularly performs the East Bay coffee shop curcuit and has developed a following among students and twenty-somethings in that area.
