    Artist History
BugHouse Loco is nothing but vision. Vision of what has been, what is and what is to come. It is a brainchild of an inept thinker who has entirely too much time on his hands. Influenced at an early age by various sorts of music, Erik Wilkinson has managed to entice listeners’ ears with the musical equivalent of methadone. His musical past, along with years of playing multitudes of instruments and pure unadulterated love of music, has led to a many long lasting musical relationships as well as many well respected friends within the modern music scene. The band’s various genre touching has forced them to keep their hand at their side at all times, but not to stand in line. BugHouse Loco’s mastermind, Erik, has experience with the alto saxophone, piano, cumbus, sitar, violin, drums, loads of hand percussions and his all time favorite, guitar. Erik has been playing guitar since the age of eleven and can be heard by many neighbors on every night. Originally from Chicago, moving to Indianapolis only in 2001, he has been influenced greatly by the soul and the blues of the Midwest. Monster Magnet, Clutch, Frank Zappa, Loreena McKennitt, Hawkwind, Curtis Mayfield and The Dead Can Dance are among his greatest influences and their variety can be sensed in his music. His previous band Spin Psycle has seen a small amount of attention having played the Chicago scene for four years and recording some noteworthy singles. Spin Psycle jammed at such venues as the Metro, The Lyon’s Den, The Roundhouse and the Hard Rock Caf [having won Q101’s ( a popular local alternative station) Rolling Rock battle of the bands to open for Stone Temple Pilots]. Spin Psycle, working with such engineers as Chris Sheperd (Smashing Pumpkins, Kid Rock, etc.) and Brian Carlstrom (U2, The Offspring etc) has, along with their live performances, managed to gain a following before Erik left to pursue other career interests. Another member of Spin Psycle is Isaac Abraham otherwise known as ISAAC and having released a nationwide freestyle hit entitled “In My Heart.” Roberto Franco and Rick Yifrach were both members of the wildly popular Goth band, Avernus. The title for the band comes from a 1920’s silent propaganda film against marijuana use. The main character has smoked a “marijuana cigarette” and went completely “BugHouse Loco” as the movie had stated. This describes the music quite well. The band is crazy in the fact that despite the vast amount of genres represented, there is a common ground to walk on. The ground may be on Mars, but it is a common ground nonetheless. The band’s future is wide open and are currently trying out new members for the various live shows to be scheduled throughout the Midwest area following the recent release of their first album, Open Visioning for the Dream Impaired
