    Press Reviews
From Pop Punk E-Zine. February 2001: The Interns– I Like You Do You Like Me? EP – (Self Released) The Interns are a melodic pop-punk band from the historic rock-n-roll city of Cleveland. Just another reason why “Cleveland Rocks”. I would compare their sound to MxPx,Gameface, and Alkaline Trio. “I Like You Do You Like Me?” is a 3-song EP that wasself-released by the band. At times it sounds pretty raw but it’s obvious they are talented. Kudos for great drive in putting this EP out DIY and doing it with just a few songs. This leaves you with just enough of a taste to look forward to bigger and better things in the future. The 3 songs are “Start Anew”, “Reasons Why”, and “Closure”. All 3 are emo-influenced lyrically and chalk up some good choruses and superb blends. Musically, it keeps a fairly decent tempo throughout each song with just enough changes to hang on to your ear. It’s obvious of their influences, which including the bands mentioned above (minus Gameface), are The Descendents, Save The Day, Homegrown, and The Ataris. These guys are still teenagers so I would expect their sound to continue to improve. It looks like they do a lot of shows so this doesn’t hurt. So to answer the question above, I circle “yes”. From pittbands.com By listening to The Interns' latest CDep entitled "Rome Wasn't Built In A Day" I notice a big change in the band musically, and lyrically. When I listen to the song "Pearl Harbor" I notice the harder, more aggressive side of the band, with gently screamed vocals and semi-off key vocals. "Pinstripes and Satin" is a softer/catchier song that opens a brighter doorway in Rome (pun). "Rome Wasn't Built In A Day" is my favorite song on the CD. It's a beautiful acoustic guitar track with some of the most passionate lyrics and the way the vocals are brought out makes you really want to just lye back and relax. "Whatever It Takes" another great song will be featured on the upcoming "At Least The World Has Pittsburgh" compilation from Pittbands.com. I think their could be more power in the recording though. Only things I think could've used work are the vocals and sometimes I noticed some of the leads are a off. Overall it's a good CD I would recommend you adding to your collection. It's a major change from their past recording simply for the fact that their musical style has changed majorly. From The Cleveland Punk Scene Site: "As for the Interns, this is the first time I've seen an entire set by the band, and I believe that they are one of the most talented bands in the area. They have very VERY awesome vocal blending, and the bass player and drummer are fucking awesome. They had catchy guitar parts and sing along chorus' that just blew my mind. I bought the new E.P. by the band and I've been listening to the same three songs for the past four hours. Totally check them out."
