Artist History Hailing from Lexington, South Carolina, Seven Stitches (Consisting of members Ryan Wilson, Mykal Ragan, Jeff Taylor, and Herb Wilson) came together in May of 2001. Longtime band mates Herb Wilson and Mykal Ragan were left without a band when the other members of Tragically High Class (THC) decided to make the trek to the College of Charleston. After playing around with a few people and not getting the results they were looking for, they finally decided to start looking seriously for members that could fill the void. After searching for a while with no results, things were starting to look very bleak in the early months of 2001. After taking some time off, regrouping their efforts and working closely with Mykal's cousin, Josh Shumpert, they finally came across a break in the silence. After seeing Cold along with Columbia band Bleak, Josh came across a friend from high school, known for his cross-eyed antics, Jeff Taylor. After jamming for a month or so and honing their sound slightly, Jeff came back in contact with long time friend, Ryan Wilson, former member of the SC/FL punk outfit, The YES Program. After playing a couple times with the newfound vocalist, and writing a few songs, it was decided that Ryan would also become a permanent member of the band. One day, as the band was sitting around doing what they do best (...sitting around), Daniel, a close friend to the band, brought up some rather disturbing events taking place in another music scene (this will later be revealed...so, stay tuned or something) and the name for the band was decided on the spot: Seven Stitches. Later on in the month, Mykal and Herb found out that after some mayhem at the Pizza Bistro show they played with Tragically High Class; a fan had to be rushed to the hospital to receive seven stitches as well...if the shoe fits, wear it, right? Now, after their first show at the Trance in Greenville, SC, the band plans to further their interests at home in Columbia.
