    Artist History
NVS Kiss was formed in 2000 by band members Rudy Contreras (drums), Hector Ruiz (bass and lead vocals), and Hector Vazquez (guitar). The three band members have known each other since childhood, but decided to come together as a band one year ago. Each member has been influenced by various styles of music ranging from Gospel, Rock, Pop, Jazz, and Latin. Their songs are a mixture of all the musical styles mentioned above mixed in with NVS Kiss’s own style. All the songs were arranged, written, played, and produced by NVS Kiss. Hector Ruiz Lead Singer, Bass Player, Songwriter, and Arranger Started playing at the age of 11 in church, where I met Rudy and Hector Vazquez. The first group I played with was the “Groovy Tubes”, a band that Rudy, Hector, and myself created. I have had the best influences of the 1980’s era. These groups include but are not limited to The Cars, Duran Duran, The System, Scritti Pollitti, The Police, Saga, Cliff Richard, and Journey. My career as a singer began back in 1989, while attending the University of Puerto Rico, where I started singing at school functions. I spent the remainder of the decade as a dancer for clubs like “Pleasure Island (Disney World)”, Deco, and “The Mirage”. In 1999 I landed the bass player job with the British girl group “Cleopatra”. I also played in the inaugural voyage of the cruise ship “Disney’s Magic”. Later I landed the main back up singer and bass player position with Enrique Iglesias, in which I toured with Enrique all over the world. I have also been on the following shows: 1. The Tonight Show with Jay Leno 2. VH1 Men Strike Back 3. Good Morning America 4. The Late Show with David Letterman 5. The MTV Awards 6. Premios los Nuestro I have also played for the King of Dubai and in the Kremlin for the new Russian president, Putin. My biography has now come full circle because I am playing with Rudy and Hector Vazquez again. Hector Vazquez Guitar Player, Singer, Songwriter, and Arranger Born in Bayamon, Puerto Rico my interest for music started at the age of 10. My father and uncles, who were also musicians taught my first chords to me. I also play bass, mandolin, and minor percussion. By the time I was in middle school I was singing, writing, and playing guitar in a Spanish school trio. I also played in community activities and church functions. When I got into High School I formed my own band “Shekina”. I was the lead singer and guitarist for “Shekina” an al original hard rock band. The band remained in tact through my first year in college and disbanded when I joined the U.S. Army. After joining the Army I formed my own band in Ft. Hood, Texas. Here I played for three years in the nightclubs of Austin and San Antonio. After my three years with the Army I moved back to Orlando, FL where I have started doing studio work and jingles for Spanish radio and TV stations. I have played for the following bands in the State of Florida: 1. White Stones 2. Storm Wind 3. ResQ 4. Sunrise My musical influences are: 1. Van Halen 2. Xtreme 3. Jimi Hendrix 4. Joe Satriani 5. Europe 6. Journey 7. Boston Rudy E. Contreras Drummer, Back Up Singer, Songwriter, and Arranger I started playing the drums at the age of 13 in Buffalo, NY. Moved to Orlando, FL when I was 15, and continued playing drums for the local church band. At the age of 18 I decided to change my music genre, and since then I have played and recorded professionally in styes ranging from Rock, Pop, Gospel, and Latin. I have also written numerous songs and have recorded 15 of them professionally in both English and Spanish. Here’s a list of the local bands I have played in: 1. Glass Heart 2. Rio 3. Golgotha 4. Dion Torrez Band 5. Preddy Boys 6. Groovy Tubes 7. NVS Kiss I was also the drummer for the Principal in 1996, which performed for the Hispanic Festival, which had a record crowd of 30,000 people.
