Artist description
Old school anthem punk, with hardcore strains and a good upbeat feel. We are called Enemies of Hypocrisy, or EoH for short, with members from the Northern New York and Southeastern Ontario area. We started in January of 2000 when Josh had the idea to start a band to reach the large punk/hardcore scene in the city where he lives, Cornwall, Ontario. Our mission is to reach unsaved teens who can't be reached by mainstream Christian music or standard church-based evangelism, and to encourage Christians to stand up for their beliefs instead of being ashamed or afraid. |

Artist History
As a band, we started off as a punk cover band, with several temporary changes in band members at the start until we ended up with just josh, pete, and renee in the band, with DJ only filling in on drums at the time because he was still playing with another group. Through different circumstances, that other band dissolves and DJ became a permanent member of the band. We also acquired a second guitarist, Brooke, who played with us for the better part of a year. We played our first show in early 2000, starting with one original song and five covers, an old converted library in Cornwall. After that, Brooke eventually felt led to other pursuits, shortly followed by our good friend Trent joining the band as a rhythm guitarist. The five of us played together for more than a year, until the end of summer 2001, when Trent and Pete each felt that God was calling to different things besides the band. In fall 2001, DJ and Josh each started college, and Trent went to the Air Force in the Arizona. Most recently, Pete has rejoined the band so we will be able to record our CD, but we are still entertaining thoughts of having a new drummer and moving DJ to play a second guitar. For the time being, however, we are back to our core four-piece, with big plans for the days ahead!
Our lyrics deal with issues that face teens everyday and show that Jesus is the only answer to their problems. All of our songs have a strong evangelistic Christian theme. Our mission is to glorify God through everything we do as a band and individually, to reach those who cannot be reached by conventional evangelism, and to encourage Christians to be bold with their faith. |
