Artist History
Angela has written and performed her original music since 1975. Initially a solo folk guitarist, she participated in benefit concerts throughout Europe and the U.S. supporting the grassroot non-violent anti-nuclear movement. From 1983 to 1990, she was the lead singer for the female pop rock band The Mix. Angela has performed in numerous theatrical productions and was a also a singer in the 60's 'girl group' band - The Creamettes. In the past 5 years, the demand for her songs generated by her most recent musical group, Marble Feather, initiated the need to formalize an indie record company in March of 2000, which currently publishes and distributes her music world wide. |

Press Reviews
Marble Feather is the creation of singer/songwriter Angela Sterling Forest. The music takes on a very interesting twist than what you may expect from typical AAA/Pop. More and more I hear sing/songwriters using a roots style of folk and combining it with a solid pop sound. This music goes one step further and incorporates a mystical groove of sounds and styles that might be found in the world beat musical style. The truth is, there are instruments from all genres and style on this album. Each song shows off a complex arrangement and beauty, but without being overly artistic. In other words, the music doesn't force the artistic thing. It holds it's solid grooves and melodic appeal.Because of the complexity of this music, I find it hard to place it into any one category. Folk, World, AAA, Pop and Adult Contemporary are just some of the styles that this music derives from. None of that really matters, because good music doesn't have to fit into any specific category to be appreciated. It's a well known fact that I have a fondness for music that is original and cutting edge. I fell in love with this music because of that reason. The songs are so well created that I can't imagine ever comprehending it entirely. Then again, music is here to make us think too much, but to enjoy. That is something that I had no problem doing. Marble Feather is music that I believe has the potential to open the minds and inspire a lot of musicians and music fans. Music with substance and beauty tends to do that sort of thing.
