Artist description
Intense. Dark. Emotional. Pure. Melodic. Raw. Honest. Yes, Sola is all of these things and much more. Sola is a hard-working and hard-rocking four-piece out of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, characterized and set apart by distinctive guitar and vocal harmonies, warm melodic bottom end, and frantic but precise drum work. All four members had played with various local acts over the years, but something unknown kept drawing them together. Eventually they realized what forces were at work, so the decision was made to get serious and see just what they were capable of. In a remarkably short time, Sola has re-energized the local music scene through their hard work and dedication to their music, and is now prepared to take their show on the road.
Sola, forming in April of 2001, began writing the music that ultimately led to local success beyond anyone’s expectations. Over the next seven months, with no promotional material or merchandise, and no credit to their name, Sola would perform nearly sixty shows all over the Gulf South area, land a spec recording deal with Sockit Studio of Baton Rouge, earn the support of Baton Rouge radio and a steadily growing fan base, and secure regular airplay, live performances, and local media interviews.
Currently, Sola is working with Grammy award-winning Recording Engineer, Devon Kirkpatrick, on their long overdue debut release:
neveroddoreven
Sola continues to perform regularly and tirelessly at local venues. They are looking forward to working with larger national acts to further expand their fan base, as well as shopping for a record deal in order to make their goal a reality.
