Artist History
In January 2001, a young bass-playin', caterwaulin' lad named Alias von Fakename followed the noble eightfold path into the sparkling clearing we know as resisting the capitalist system. He wanted to form a band, and fuel it with revolutionary politics. Satan's Best Friend was recruited to join this project around August 2001, and the search for a second guitarist and drummer began. In October 2001, Beatnik Dan picked up the axe. The fledgling band was then christened John Cop and the Donuts. Two months later, Mr. McBoredom began bangin' skins for the Donuts. The band practiced for a while in the J-squat (McBoredom's pad), perfected their songs, and played their first shows in the summer of 2002. On August 19th, 2002, Aleczavier became a Donut, taking up the four-string and allowing John Cop to reemerge from the birth canal.
After refining their sound and playing shows for another year, Marshall joined on vocals. The band will further refine their sound, terrifying the population with every note...
Several members of John Cop and the Donuts play wireless, and they use their equipment well, creating a memorable, interactive live show.
John Cop and the Donuts plays a mix of punk, hardcore, and leftist politics, with some elements of reggae and humor. This crazy hybrid is known as "donutcore". |
