Artist History
Trained in composition and piano performance at Boston University and the New England Conservatory of Music, Dowling has performed all over the world incorporating his command of classical and jazz piano with a unique touch and sense of space.
An early pioneer in the realm of sound synthesis and sampling, he has been consulted on some of history's most influential synthesizer projects including the Korg M1, Wavestation and OAsys, as well as creating sounds for Madonna and Michael Jackson.
Dowling has been honored with numerous Gold and Platinum records and, consistent with his love of indigenous and world music, won a Golden Eagle in 1995 for his musical score for the United Nation's official 50th Anniversary documentary, "A Place to Stand."

Press Reviews
"I listened to your CD for at least six hours. I just kept it playing over and over. It is some of the most beautiful
and calming piano meditation music I have ever heard."
- Kent Rautenstraus
"Ben plays the strains and arrows of the world away. His latest rendering, "Ahimsa," has the power to carry us to a space that is quiet and calm...a masterpiece in which we all should delight."
- Rickie Byars-Beckwith |
