Artist History
ALIAS CLARK is a band with a singular goal: to rock the Universe one planet at a time. Their current home base is Orlando, FL, a town rich in entertainment luminaries and a burgeoning underground music scene. What separates this rock outfit from the rest of the horde is their commitment to a wickedly entertaining product built upon a solid Punk Rock foundation and framed in melodious, irresistibly catchy Power Pop.
Their sense of humor, although underscored in their music, permeates their live show where, among other things, they refer to normal people as Sasquatches, do less-than-spectacular (yet hilarious) impersonations of Amold Schwarzenegger, and refer to a LiteBrite with ALIAS CLARK spelled upon it as "PYRO." Encouraging audience participation, ALIAS CLARK directly engages a crowd and dissolves any sense of a "fourth wall" between audience and stage.
After playing for a year as a three-piece, Matt Woodruff was brought on as second guitar and backup vocals, adding beef to their already thunderous guitar sound in addition to great vocal harmonies. On drums is jazz-trained percussionist Andy Wambach who supplies the driving back beat that moves the crowd. The rhythm section is rounded out with Adam Williams on bass, kicking out fat bass lines and inspiring on-stage antics. Lead guitar and vocals is supplied by Jim Tramontana who recently captured a nomination for Best Vocalist in the 2002 Orlando Punk and Ska Awards.
Currently, ALIAS CLARK is getting airplay on four central Florida FM radio stations: WOCL O-Rock 105.9 (where the band was recently featured by 7 PM - 11 PM on-air personality, Mel, as "Mel's Favorite Band" consisting of prime- time spins of ALIAS CLARK songs), WTKS Real Radio 104.1, WJRR Real Rock 101.1, and WPRK 95.1. The band will also have a song on the soundtrack to the Abyssmal Entertainment motion picture The Night Owl due for release in early 2003.
You can catch ALIAS CLARK on their Stuck in the South Tour as they crisscross the highways and byways of the southern United States. Whether opening for national acts or headlining themselves, ALIAS CLARK brings the rock to those who thirst for it.
Two EPs are available through Pretty Pony Records: the 2002 debut release entitled Good Times (featuring the single Happy Day) and the 2003 follow-up Florida (featuring the break out hit The City Beautiful).
