Artist History
Superior – S.B.C.
=about the foundation=
Some years ago Ruben, Mark and Martijn wanted to
set up a band. They asked Sander to play bassguitar,
and Sander went to Whatt's Up in Beek. There he
bought himself a bass and an amp, and he took
some lessons. After a couple of weeks the boys
managed to play one number together; Shove It
of The Deftones. It still didn't work
together: they needed a "voice for more noise".
They asked Rob and Ray for it. In the end, Rob
takes the guitars over from Ruben and Ray tried to overwhelm the noise of the band with his brutal-shaped vocals. Superior got the oppurtunity to play in front of some people at a party in Stein, so they went on practising and practising, and they could play three songs at the party. From that point they said to each other "let's go on with this, this is something we really like to do". after that party which took place in the summer of 2000 they played at four festivals with Rimmshot, Backfire!, and some other bands they have their influences from. =about our goal= A lot of bands want bring something to the audience, to let the people know what or who they are or what they do. We don't. We just want to have fun and if someone understeands the words, that would be nice, but there's no need for it. We gave our band the name Superior because it's a good name to fight for and it's a name that sets people thinking "are they really super or is it just a...?". Actually, or main goal is to play at one of the hardcore fests in Maastricht and to play at the Dynamo Open Air festival. And ofcourse, to see the people dance when they hear our music.
