Artist History
BrokenNess is the current vehicle for singer-songwriter- musician-producer Regan Lane and his honest, friendly, often inspirational pop songs.{Matt Driscoll / KBTC 91.7FM}
The seed for the idea of the band name BrokenNess was first planted in Regan’s head in a drug and alcohol treatment center as an in joke to describe the physical, emotional and spiritual health of the general population. Gallows humor. When Regan returned from his 28 day sabbatical with a new outlook on life he enlisted the help of his songwriting partner, best friend and bass player extraordinaire Ray Hartman and drummer/percussionist Dane Estepa to create ICU In Dandylions, a collection of songs from the previous years experiences. The songs that had been written are snapshots of those times and new songs were added to reflect the uncertain yet bright future.
Voted one of the Top 50 CDs for 2003 on Kweevak.com , the new BrokenNess CD ICU In Dandylions has been met with unanimous critical acclaim for the concept and songwriting,{As individual songs these cuts shine with intelligence and dedicated pop sensibilities. Regan is today working as a VJ on the northwest music-television show Puget Sounds TV which features
his composition U Won’t Believe Your Ears as the theme song And has started a new 10-song project with co- producer Todd Ensminger, aiming his music at long lasting relationships with the Television and Film markets.

Brokenness has picked up the pieces of rock history and glued them together with modern music to create a compelling collection of songs as found on ICU In Dandylions.

The imagery of the title line ‘ICU In Dandylions’ almost rivals ‘Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds ’
for a classic line from the child of a songwriter.-Great Stuff!
Rokk Lattanzio/Vociferous Music
“… ‘ICU In Dandylions’ explodes into a rainbow of emotions….
one of those scarce indie pop albums that fashions on groups like The Beatles and Kinks rather than just pay tribute to them.” Ron Swarner/The Weekly Volcano
“ The harmonies are gorgeous. It just feels so good to listen to this.”
Jennifer Layton/Indie-Music.com
Jaunty pop reminiscent of George Harrison or Adrian Belew. Summery and refreshing.
Aiding and Abetting
…Has the feel of a modern day Beatles band. All the songs have an interesting story and a catchy sound to them. Many people may be able to connect to this album-not just the music, but also to the actual words behind it.Arminda A. Schroeder/UNDERGROUNDBEATONLINE
Brokenness may sing of incredibly personal struggles but their appeal and connection are poignantly tangible and inescapably universal. Lisa Gunter / The Tacoma Reporter
Honest, friendly, often inspirational pop songs. Matt Driscoll / KBTC 91.7FM
…. Perfect melding of post-90’s alterna-pop and 60’s psyche-pop. Beautiful, lush XTC-esque vocal harmonies. Damn fine pop tunes…._ Gary Arthur Brown /Gods Of Music
