Artist description
Having spent the last years in various projects based around their recording studio, the members of Gazpacho have now completed their quest for the new sound which some samples are downloadable for free.
If asked, we'd describe Gazpacho as having strong melodic themes which we believe (and have heard) is a truly unique and special sound.. whatever suits the mood of the song and story we want to tell is our goal, and no 'set style' should prevent the art of creation... That being said, there is a dominant 'English' feel to all the music. The vocals of 'O', adding a crooner like feel at times to the music, always deeply emotive.

Artist History
It all started out with one song, a reunion of two best friends that had their days of garage bands during previous 18 years of their lives. Joined by the 'O' on vocals, 'Scares Me' was written in 1996 and slowly developed into an album with a very serious underlying theme to it, titled 'Random Access Memory'. Although this was written at the adolescent stage of Gazpacho (and hence no songs available here), this album has an intense and haunting nature to it, evolving through 12 songs. Still, we weren't satisfied to the degree of putting a demo out. The timing was just all wrong for it, knowing what was released and signed at the time.
Living by our ever-standing philosophy that the next one is not going to be like the last, we see RAM as a stepping stone to our current style.... We now stand with alot more tracks (25 up until now) and decided to put out some of our samples, pictures and info for the general world to dig into; |

Group Members
The recipe for Gazpacho you ask? Well, take one radio plugger from a major record label (Jan H.'O'; vocals, Norwegian), add a successful radio-spot producer (T. Andersen; Keyboards, US/Norwegian), spice it with a European Marketing Manager from a multi-national company (Jon A.Vilbo; Guitars, UK/Norwegian), and drizzle a truly entrepreneurial 'new media' manager (R. Funner; bass, Norwegian).. a twist of fate and voila!, we have the most unlikely soup mixture ever.... |

Press Reviews
"Gazpacho - guitarist Jon A. Vilbo, keyboard player Thomas Andersen, bassist Roy Funner and singer Jan H. (a.k.a "O") - are devoted to their work, without pandering to any trend or fashion destined to become superfluous before the year is out. But their commercial potential is undeniable on "Get It While It's Cold (37ºC)", the band's debut." Peter Kearns writing for Misfit City Oct. 02.
"I have to say that seldom I have been blown away this much by a new band. The debut album of Coldplay may have had the same effect, but these bands had a record-label backing them up. Gazpacho have managed to do it all themselves, and in such a great and professional way that is literally unheard of." .dprp.vuurwerk.nl May 02
"This music has the potential to appeal to a huge audience; it just doesn't fall into the latest trendy scene. Anyone who appreciates well crafted songs should check this out." Blissaquamarine.net Aug 02
"The tunes are oddly compelling, and the more you listen, the more you realize how expertly-crafted and truly inventive they are." splendidezine.com June 02
"Gazpacho's a real surprise for me. Their music's so good, atmospheric, well made and sometimes emotional that it goes straight into the heart." progwereld.com June 02
"Imagine the sound of Travis, mixed with the dark feel of Muse, and Placebo. There is an early Radiohead influence too, but it's not as prominent as the others. " Indieworkshop.com Aug 02
"Good execution, hip ideas, and nice use of melodic and harmonic lines. You guys rock... Hit now while the getting is good, and you could be TNBT (the next big thing)." Makeastar.com May 02
"It’s obvious by the skillful arrangement of the song that these guys know what they are doing." godsofmusic.com Sept 02
"I warn you: this album quickly gets into your head, making you want more and more… Let’s just hope someone will release their full-length debut, before I’ll get out of my mind!! ;-)" polish art rock Aug 02.
"Get It While It's Cold (37°C), is a demo CD with an outstanding production considering its being sold for the bargain of $7.98 and its one of the best self-produced releases ever made. The band has proven to be extremely professional on every detail, and we'll probably hear much more about them in the future." Progarchives Aug 02
