Artist description
“Sugar” Kaine Grant
Mr. Grant is the Divinity Music Works Inc. (DMWI) founder and Chief Executive Officer that gives life to the following characters:
Manteen - Manteen is Swahili, meaning “strong”. This dread locked, dancehall reggae spiritualist attempts to stay true to reggaes’
creators, “The Wailing Wailers” (Bob Marley, Peter Tosh and Bunny “Wailer” Livingston) by bringing the “ital”, purist message into
the dancehall while, without compromise, remains edgy and street savvy. His exotic voice and delivery has an aggressive energy
and mystique that appeals to the masses while enlightening them. Manteen has performed on local college campuses and parties
for years and was featured on En Vogue’s 1992 popular WBLS, New York radio remix of the number one hit, “Never Gonna Get It”.
“Sugar” Kaine – multi-genre lyricist and producer
Vexed - the loud, disgruntled comedic rapper.
KNG – the melodic, political, dirty south rapper.
Born, raised and currently residing in Long Island, New York, “Sugar”
Kaine attended Hofstra University and majored in business management.
Jimmy Edwards Jr., aka J.E.
“It’s the J, .(dot) E, .(period)” is how the 2001 high school grad puts
it down in one of his songs. This Brooklyn born, Long Island raised,
hip-hop lyricist and r&b crooner has his own smooth, new school style
and flow that warms the ladies and hypes the fellas. Like many other
strong r&b vocalists, J.E. comes from a musical family with soulful roots
that were cultivated in the church. His mature writings and lyrics reflect a
soul much beyond his physical years that include an endearing personality
with many natural traits of a true superstar.
A popular figure in his current residence of Bellmore, L.I., Jr., (as
he is affectionately known by his peers) was an active participant in
his high school’s chorus that has, during his membership, toured and
won many high school choral competitions nationally. In fact, it was
J.E.’s choral director and Divinity Music Works president, Damon “DRD”
Devitt that helped to train and discovered this multi-genred powder keg
of fresh, new, young talent. |
