In the case of Dubliner Bryan O' Connor, there's no such oversight, "The Lounge Lizard" being a fine stab at soundtracking your late-night pints and carousing with suitable horizontal funk and ambient blues. Few tracks hang around for longer than two or three minutes, preferring to flit between a touch of jazz and a touch of funk before exiting stage right. There are moments ("Escape" and "Chanting") that hint at a Pete Namlook sense of space but, for the most part, O' Connor prefers to dive into serene soundtrack waters *** Jim Carroll
