Artist description
After years performing in underground bands
(like the notorious Shockdogs and Fuse among
others), ERIK began a solo career in 2001.
His first cd, Neverland (released exclusively online),
sold out in 4 days. After a series of troubles with the
Neverland producer, he was forced to remove the cd
from circulation pending court disputes.
Not easily discouraged, ERIK pooled his resources
and plunged into the next cd, only this time he would
do it all, including all aspects of production, engineering
and distribution. Only 8 months later, his first truly solo cd, FLAWED was released (July 2002).
His debut single, Undone, earned him the #4 spot on MP3.COM's Canadian Top 40, and started
June 2002 #1 in Rock and Pop categories at Iuma ( one of 2 FLAWED singles that have been signed to the soundtrack of an upcoming documentary currently being filmed in LA, a track that is also being considered as a
preloaded demo in a new line of mp3 players). Another track, Things Are Getting Better,
sparked the interest of a major auto manufacturer as the jingle for an upcoming line.
Since then, he has attracted the attention of major labels, dozens of smaller labels,
independent producers, and managerial companies in New York, Los Angeles,
and Chicago.
Between appearances and interviews, ERIK is currently knee-deep in new material at his studio,
preparing for the release of his next cd spring 2003.
HYBRISTOPHILIA, a stunning new film by LA-based director Larry Womack, features 2 songs (In This Fantasy and Your Cyrano) from ERIK's FLAWED cd!
"...a young Canadian solo independent artist, who performed in many
local and underground bands before going solo. His first cd,
Neverland, sold out soon after it hit the net in December of 2001.
His latest project, Flawed, promises a unique blend of provocative
, stylized tunes and articulate, meaningful and poetic lyrics, dripping
with sensitivity, sarcasm, venom and positive energy. Something for almost
everyone...."

Artist History
"...I grew up in a little town called Brantford in
Ontario. I got into acting as a kid and did a whack of
commercials and tv shows, and a few really horrible b-movies.
I see the stuff and I'm like, 'what was I thinking!?!' , but it
a really cool period for me and it taught me alot about the industry
and performing. I was kinda one of those studio kids you here about.
I starting singing early and studied keys first, then drums, then
pretty much anything else I could get my hands on! [laughs] So yeah...
now music's my life..." |

Press Reviews
Erik - Flawed (Independent)
"One of the most promising singer-songwriters his generation has seen,
Erik may be new to listeners, but he's been around. Erik's pleasant voice,
slightly rough-edged, is intriguing, and "Flawed" is a debut that leaves you
looking forward to his future. The music is toe-tapping and the musicianship
as good as you'll find in any industry release. The playing is crisp, the
recording is clear. What more could you want besides your own copy of this
terrific CD? This album promises the complete package of music, and delivers
it too! Definitely worth rolling the carpet up for! Recommended!"
