My Biography
Benard(Worldtastic)White
Born on Decmeber 18,1976,
With three distinct elements, Hip-Hop,R&B and Funk I bring into fruition the genre of Experimental Urban. I rely on live intrumentation over samples. I’ am able to utilize my ability’s through the vision of music, spirituality and perserverance. Quality is the largst part of what I do. From the chord structure to rhythm arragement. I am the whole band, everthing has to be according. Some of my musical influences over the years were, Prince, Michael Jackson,Stevie Wonder, Teddy Riley,Jodeci all the way to Gun’n’ Roses, Sound Garden,Stone Temple Pilots and Alanis Morrisette.
I (Worldtastic) began my musical journey in 1995 at the age of 18. Starting out with a Yamaha Portasound keyboard and a Boss Mk Doctor Rhythm drum machine. With no formal training I was able early on to carve out my own niche. Having a family with a rich musical background is what was the driving force behind my hunger and desire to continue on with that legacy. I started making my first compostions in 1996. After months of practicing I started calaborating with other artist and musicians in my local area. In late 1997 came my first brake ,after meeting local producer and Ceo of Worldquest Records Jerry Briant through a friend. I was taken in an intern producer and engineer and spent most of my time behind the mixing boards and behind the keyboard and the turntables. Over the course of nearly two years I was able to work my way up. Shorltly after I was given a chance to produce four tracks on an upcomming project entitled Funk Factory Vol:1, which sold nearly 500 copies locally. Also at this time I was working with an artist by the name of Shamrock on his solo debut EP. I was three tracks into the album when the studio all of the Funk Factory artist where working at was robbed and made the local news all over the county. Shortly after the robbery most of the artist and affiliates left the Funk Factory after Jerry Briant owner and Ceo of Worldquest Records closed the doors. I continued to compose and produce tracks at home during the period after the leaving Worldquest Records. I finally met up with Jamie(Rawhead)Richardson a producer and rapper looking for someone to collaborate musically with. Jamie and I started working together in Febuary of 1999 on concepts and composition together. At this time I contributed four tracks to Jamie’s album entitled Manhunt. I was featured on three tracks, Loved or Hated, Venom and Burn rubber. Over the course of that year I put out track after track and established a pretty substantial catalog of music. The year 2000 started out with more of the same routine for myself as I continued to compose and produce more material. I continued to meeting other local artist and made a trip to Atlanta to produce a demo for a rapper by the name of Malikai. I was introduced through his assiocates and manager to A&R’s at two major labels located in Atlanta. The trip was an overall dissapointment for myself. Lack of effort and coordination left me discouraged, but not deafeated. I came back to California with a new desire and hunger for success. I spent the rest of 2000 fine tuning my skills and composing.
I rebounded after a dismal year in 2000. I was able to get back on track with new projects coming my way. The first line of bussiness for myself was to work with an inspiring rapper by the name of Nic_Nac on his solo LP. I began laying down tracks with fellow producer and friend Jamie Richardson. Currently in the works is the first release from Rawhead Records entitled Rawhead Records presents. A collection of works from artist that Jamie and I have been working with for the past two years. Other projects in the works include my solo Ep entitled The Rebirth, The Best of Worldtastic Insturmentals LP. Rawhead’s follow up album to Manuhunt. I am also looking to record an album with my family members.
Over the past five years I have grown tremendiously. I’ am always finding ways to improve upon what I have already accomplished. I am never satisfied and always focused, I remain driven to be creative, innovative and one step ahead of everyone the business.I would like to take this oportunity to thank my family. All of the musicians, writers, producers, artist, engineers, entrepenuers that I have ever worked with. They will be apppreciated more than they will ever know.
Welcome to the future,
Benard(Worldtastic)White |
