Artist History
The Green Peanuts started out as just another crappy basement band. They played cover songs of ska bands they liked such as Reel Big Fish and Less Than Jake. They pretty much only played to themselves in the basement, so some band members thought it was stupid and quit. They were very quickly replaced, and the basement began being filled with terrible noises again. Eventually, the Peanuts decided they should play for other people, so they set up a show. They sucked. They played the covers proficiently, but they decided then that they would never sound like the original artists. They also determined that no one would come to shows if they didn't put on a good show, for the simple fact is that bands rarely sound as good live as they do on CD. They began dancing like morons and doing crazy, stupid things to get kids out to their shows. The Peanuts began writing their own songs, and soon they were ready to play REAL shows. They played with a couple of other local ska bands and put on excellent shows. More and more kids started coming to shows, untill eventually lots of kids were coming to almost every show. The Peanuts decided to do a self released album which they called: "Stop the Green Peanuts." It did suck and it still does suck(Their live show is much better), but it sold rather quickly in the surrounding areas. After the CD, things got better. Kids started singing along at shows and moving around almost as much as our green friends. Eventually opening slots for touring bands became a part of the Peanut's lives. The quest of the colored nuts ended on June 13th, 2003. The moral of this story is: People don't like other people that don't shower. |
