    Artist History
Joe Ross and Jon Brouse met at Camden Catholic High School in the year 1998. They were good friends and played some music together despite Joe playing lead guitar in another band called Nova. In the year 2000 Chris Nelson entered Camden Catholic as an incoming Junior and half way through the year joined Nova. They played with Nova till the end of their Senior year. In the summer of 2001 Joe left the band because he just wasn't into the music. Nova had been a soft rock and roll band and Joe and Jon (as friends do) both started getting into music with more energy. Bands like Millencolin, the Ataris, Blink 182, Unwritten Law, and others had inspired them. Nelson remained in Nova but sometime during the summer Jon and Joe asked him to play some punk with them for shits and giggles. Nelson had always prefered to play faster music so of course he jumped on the opportunity. The first time they got together only covers were played… mostly Weezer and The Ataris. It was all just for fun to them. Then they played their first show, a small gig for a family day in Merchantville, in the absence of a bass player. After playing live for the first time, they all knew this is what they wanted. Unfortunately for them they would all be heading off for college in less then a month. College presented an interesting problem because the band would never be able to practice. Showroom would eventually learn how to make the best of things. Joe, being the songwriter, never stopped writing and making music. The problem was everyone else hearing it. Jon and Nelson decided the best way to do things was to have Joe record the songs, simply, and send them over the Internet. Joe would send songs to Jon and he would write a lead. Jon and Joe weren't really far from each other so when they happened to be able to see each other they played together and record rhythm and lead and vocals and sent them to Chris over the Internet. Chris would develop a feel for the songs and when they all got together on their Christmas break, their original music came to life. They practiced pretty much everyday for two or three weeks and ended up recording the four songs they created in the same Christmas break. The only dilemma that arouse was who was to play bass. After considering three other bass players (that just didn't work out) Chris called Dan Patterson, a former classmate. Dan was the best bass player Chris had ever heard about, so he figured he had to be in a band. As luck would have it, he wasn't and was happy to record with Showroom. In the process of recording, mixing, and mastering, Dan became a part of the band. Sadly, at the beginning of the summer of 2002, a mutual and friendly decision was made by the band that Dan was to leave. He wanted to focus completely on his Engineering degree and the band was simply not a priority to him. The other guys wish him luck and remain friends with him. So, a friend of a friend was approached to try out for the band. This is Marcus, an excellente punk rock fellow who has agreed to rehearse with Show Room and will almost definitely become a permanent member.
