Artist description
Formed in May of 1995, THRUST is an all original band out of Kansas CIty. Throughout the last 7 years they have gained quite a following in the region. In filling clubs and theaters they play such as Roadhouse Ruby’s , America’s Pub, The Hurricane, The Beaumont Club, Vampire Lounge, Uptown Theater, Sandstone Ampitheater, The Granada, and many more, no clubs have been disappointed in the backing of the band.
The band has appeared on many college radio stations around the country. They have been featured in the College Music Journal (CMJ) compilation discs. Thrust has also appeared in the AGGRO/ active music magazine and has appeared on it’s compilation discs as well, with bands like, Pantera, Disturbed, Iron Maiden, Nashville Pussy, Deftones.......etc.
Thrust has won 3 straight contest they have entered put on by KQRC 98.9 The Rock in Kansas City. The first contest was billed “Kickstart Your Career.” The band played with Motley Crue and Laidlaw at a soldout Memorial Hall in the fall of 1998.The second and third contest were to open 98.9’s Freaker’s Ball the first being in 1999 with Megadeth, Static X, and Loudmouth. The third in 2001 and played with Soil, Sevendust, Primer 55, and Alice Cooper. Thrust was also one of 13 bands to perform at 98.9’s Rockfest ‘99 at Sandstone Ampitheater and shared the stage with Stained, Soulmotor, Sammy Hagar, and Collective Soul, just to name a few. Other bands THRUST has shared the stage with are L.A. Guns, Double Drive, Gilby Clark, Napalm Death, Flotsam and Jetsam, Firehouse, Quiet Riot, Union, and Cold.
The Thrust Musical style is in the Hard Rock category, with catchy, hard driving riffs that groove. They have put out 2 full length cd’s each selling well in the region. They are a hard hitting, in your face no B.S. live act to watch! So get your ass out there and see them play LIVE!!!!!!!
