Artist History Roots Lepke, was born Laurence Kelvin Johnson in Nightingale Lane, Balham, England, on January 31,1963,the son of an African Jamaican God-fearing family.He was moved to a very bueatiful rural area in Brandon hill ST Andrew,one of Jamaica's fourteen parishes,by his grandmother while still a young child.In the early seventies the youthful Roots Lepke was, like every ghetto kid excited by the nascent Jamaican music industry,and began to feel the vibes of the music Frequently taking part in performances in church & school events singing,composing & writing, living in the hills where the Rasta's chant dance & beat their drums to the most high,dance halls always presenting & featuring all the kings of the new music upraising of the seventies.With constant reminders from family & members of his community,Roots Lepke is known to keep the crowd rocking like never before,while keeping busy in the studio, recording & producing HIM works. Root Lepke recorded his first album Last Illusion for JAH MOUNTAIN FOUNTAIN records, Stating in this iration with trouble and sufferation in every nation,there is a need for musical education,with an emphasis on the seriousness of the situation and for the need for love vibrations.
