Artist description
After a two year run with Trenton, NJ ska/reggae/punk band Substance, lead singer Matt Diehl decided to go out on his own. The jazz trained guitarist started experimenting with all different genres of music until he found the eclectic blend that best represented him. Honest lyrics about life, death, and most often, relationships led him to the sound he was searching for. |

Artist History
Lower Sky was concieved in the spring of 2001 and a few original songs were written. Matt was writing songs before that were never used in the band Substance because they just didn't have the same vibe. Lower Sky first went into the studio in June 2001 to record the demo for the planned full length album. The demo, titled, "The Starlit Sessions" is the first half of the planned full length album, "...it means everything". Lower Sky shared studio time with the Hamilton, NJ pop-rock band Luzer at S.S. Sound Studios. The best in the Trenton local music scene contributed their talents to the recording project. Luzer members Dan Seeth, Dan Salyerds, and Chris Volk played on the album as well as Eric's Too Ska For Us bass player (and former Substance bassist) Phil Miller. Along with the help of the members of Luzer, as well as producer John Bailey, Luke of Don't Let Go, and Chris of The Riddylin Kiddies, the recordings were created. The track listing included the songs, "Starlit", "Six15", "Drift Away", and "Parked", along with a spoken word/hip hop track to be the outro on the album. "...it means everything" is planned for a summer 2002 release on an yet undetermined record label. |
