    Artist History
Korzus was born on 1983 in São Paulo city, with Marcello Pompeu ( vocals ), Silvio Golfetti ( guitars ), Dick Siebert ( bass ), Eduardo "Toperman" ( guitar ) and Maurício Brian ( drums ). On 1985 the band recorded two tracks on the SP Metal II LP. On 1986, the band released their first solo album, "Korzus ao Vivo" LP, recorded on July, 28, 1985 in the SESC Pompéia ( excepting the Ataque Supremo, song, recorded in the Lira Paulistana Theather on 23, April, 1985 ). On the same year, after recording the LP, Toperman and and Mauricio leaves the band and José Mauro "Zema" ( drums ) joins , recording on 1987 the "Sonho Maníaco" LP. On October, 12, 1987, a tragedy : the drummer Zema suicides and the band just releases a new album on 1989, called "Pay for your Lies", with a new drummer, Roberto "Betão" Sileci, and again with more one guitar man, Marcello Nicastro. On this album the band begins to compose the lyrics in English. On 1991, a new album, "Mass Illusion", that featured over three years like one of the best selling independent albums in Brazil. On this same year, Silvio Golfetti was called to replace Sepultura's Andreas Kisser, on a German tour, playing with bands like Motorhead, Kreator and Morbid Angel. Back in Brazil, after shows all over the country on the Mass Illusion tour, Korzus goes to their first European tour, playing in German, Italy, France, Switzerland and England ( on Marquee Club ). In the beggining of 1993, a new drummer change : Betão lefts the band ( creating the band Mosh ) and Ricardo Confessori joins the band, not staying longer on the band, leaving it on the beggining of 1994 to joins Angra, leaving the drums sticks to Fernando Schaefer. On this same year, Nicastro leaves the band ( he joined a pagode group, kind like samba ! ) and its replaced by Marcelo "Soldado" Nejem. On 1996, Korzus releases the "KZS" CD, showing that while a lot of bands are playing slower, Korzus keeps playing more faster, heavier and insane than never. On 1998, one more change bringing Rodrigo to the drums, because Fernando and Soldado leaves the band to create the band Treta. The new Korzus songs remains heavy and insane, with Rodrigo giving new blood to the band. In the second half of 1998, Heros Trench joins the band, and they are called to play on the Brazilian Monsters of Rock 1998, with bands like Megadeth and Slayer !!!!!! As usual, Korzus did a destroying show and turned the crown crazy even on that very sunny and hot day in São Paulo. In the end of 2000, Rodrigo leaves the band and is replaced by Kiko, wich play also on Necromancia. Korzus released a split CD with "Sonho Maníaco" and "Pay for your Lies ", never before released in CD. On the beggining of 2001, is released the "Live at Monsters" CD with 5 songs recorded on Monsters and two more never released, "Catimba" and "Last Memories", and Rodrigo rejoins the band, because Kiko will not play on both bands, staying just on Necromancia.
