    Artist description
Imagery has broken the stereotype that all young musicians are the same. They have found a creative and unique outlet for their musical expression, unlike anything before them. The members of Imagery shared the interest to create a musical experience that was yet to be heard. They have been playing together and with side-projects for the past three years, although they temporarily separated for about six months to expand their musical horizons. The sound of Imagery has been described as "busy, eerie and musically complex." Imagery experiments with such things as odd-meters, (e.g. 7/8, 5/4, 9/4, 13/8, 6/8) both vocal and instrumental harmonies, and key changes. This can be heard on the enclosed demo in songs such as "Cold Feet," which changes time signatures four times without breaking the flow of the music. The talent of each member of the band in undeniable, from the melody of guitar, to the harmonic rythms of the bass, Imagery puts their mind, body, and soul into their music. Currently Imagery has three tracks recorded, Cold Feet, Death is What Brought Us Here, and Blue. Each of these tracks has an identity all its own. Blue is one of Imagery’s more intense tracks, showing off the chemistry between drummer Michael Bouse, and bassist Josh Lowery. The track also showcases the vocal talent of Matt Dunn with the melody of the verses and unbelievably intense screams. Death is What Brought Us Here is one of the bands darker tracks, so filled with emotion that the audience can feel everything that the band felt while creating the track. The track Cold Feet shows just how unique the music of Imagery truly is. While most bands never break from a strait 4/4 meter, Cold Feet goes through four time signatures without even touching 4/4. From the 6/8 verses, to the 5/4 interlude, to the 7/8 ending, Cold Feet takes everyone who listens on a journey of musical expression. The lyrical content of Imagery’s music spans everything from the hardships of the Blind community to the pain and sorrow one feel when they lose a loved one. Imagery is truly a refreshing change from the usual music that comes from local music scenes. In an age when artists are more concerned with what the next music trend will be, than creating a unique of their own, a band that prides themselves on being different, is a breath of fresh air.

    Artist History
Lead Vocalist Matt Dunn has been actively involved with the Pensacola music scene for the last 5 years. Matt, along with drummer Michael Bouse, and bassist Josh Lowery, were part of Box of Danger, winners of the discovery contest at the Florida Springfest 1999. The band first began playing with lead guitarist, Jessie Smith in late 1999, before taking a break from the music scene in late 2000. Each of the members were involved in their own projects while separated. Jessie Smtih and Matt Dunn were involved with a hard rock band called Arcane, while Josh Lowery and Michael Bouse found themselves playing with the Industrial Act, Lifted. None of these projects ever really got off the ground, and all the members were looking for something different. Fate seemed to lead the members back together in July 2001, when Josh Lowery, Jessie Smith, and Matt Dunn all came together to watch a local rock show. After writing their first track together in over a year, the band decided to write the music they always wanted, and break the trend that has plagued the local music scene for so long. They would be different. The members of Imagery vowed to write music that would force people listen, and use their imagination to interpret the music, rather than listening to fads and trends.
