Press Reviews
Whabam! That was the sound of this band that night. Garler is fronted by a fabulous looking nymphomaniac (I assume this solely from lyrical content of her songs) and very assertive female entity.
She dares and entices the audience to release any of their social inhabitions and get fawkin crazy.
A solid and raunchy show with a no-shit punk attitude. I left feeling like I had just been to a strip club but instead of nudity and sexuality being exposed to my eyes, it was tantalisingly offered to my mind.
Finally, a front woman with balls.
-JJR Upfront Magazine Issue #47
Canadian band Garler makes its Ithica debut at the Haunt. The quartet is fronted by powerhouse singer Jale Ferland (formerly with Guttergirl), who impressively delivers the tough lyrics on "Dirty Girl" and the two other songs on the band's demo CD. Blending classic rock and modern rock influences, Garler should appeal to fans of Antigone Rising, the Witching and other female-fronted bands that have passed through I-Town recently. --Ithaca Journal August 1st, 2002
