    Artist History
"Alien Lizzie" was born on the planet earth, but is unquestionably 'out of this world'! Singer-songwriter-producer Elizabeth Anne is a young lady full of sound and fury. She is the co-owner and President of FUNKYBUTTMONKEEMUSIC, INC - a music publishing and multi-media production company based in Orlando, FL, USA. The company creates music for independent projects, publishes music and lyrics, releases CD's, and promotes live gigs for it's artists. Future plans are in the works to publish literary and theatrical works as well. Born and raised in the Central Florida area of USA, Elizabeth's life was always greatly influenced by the music that surrounded her. Elizabeth (or Lizzie as known by her friends) has cultivated her talents into many forms of expression. She learned to convey her emotions through music as well as words, and soon collected a library of moves and grooves for the mind, body, heart and soul. She was in her first band at the age of 7, singing backup. As a teenager, she wrote and performed with a punk group, as well as a classic rock influenced band. Throughout the years, she has worked with various groups and different styles, from R&B, metal, alternative, and folk, but her most impressive work has been through acid jazz and hip hop. Her first independently released single, "When I Grow Up (IWANNABEABABE)", was recorded in May of 2001 and co-produced by legendary Rock-N-Roll Hall of Fame inductee George Clinton of Parliament Funkadelic fame. Recorded in Monticello, FL, the single was distributed locally in the Orlando area, and eventually world wide via the Internet. The year 2002 has seen more releases for Elizabeth under her new company, including collaborations with fellow publishing company owner, Mike Noles (aka "The Engineer") and producer DiVinci. In August of 2002, Funkybuttmonkeemusic, INC. released a 5 song EP, consisting of original demo versions of titles within her collection. With over 16 years experience as a 'techie' (dabbling in lighting, audio and stagehand work), Lizzie admits that she was better suited to be in front of the crowd then behind the scenes. However, she has always found such an exhilirating feeling to being part of the inner workings of a live show, music, as well as theatrical. Elizabeth is also currently active in a local "hip hop artists activist" group, spreading conscious messages within their community. The group, which meets for discussion once a week, has been titled "Writes Of Passage". However, they personally go by no affiliated name or organization. Members of this group promote, perform, attend and participate in several gigs in their local area, including downtown Orlando. In the late summer of 2002, a few of these Orlando local, conscious music artists journeyed on a trip to Chicago. One of their performance stops was the legendary Square One. This expedition was only the first of many out-of-state ventures the group plans to embark on to share their talents with other like minds across the country. Elizabeth has received rave reviews at open mic appearances and music revue shows, as well as exposure from M4radio.com (for independent, unsigned acts) and airplay on local FM station 91.5. Her future looks bright as she continues to express her dreams, her loves, her life. Today the planet: tomorrow the Universe!
