Artist History
Legend has it that a group of five musicians got together in early 1998. Rumors were spread widely across Long Beach and the rest of California that the men came with a fast punk rock edge, driving melodies, and vein straining screams. As time went on, more and more people found out about this phenomenon and told friends and loved ones about the musical frenzy only known as 8 Count! “Their music is on a different wavelength than most bands.”
8 Count will be releasing their new full length album in summer of 2003. With the release of this album in mind, 8 Count will be playing up and down California from now until the end of summer. Nearing the end of summer, the band is planning a cross-country tour reaching the tips of the east coast and then heading back towards California while playing venues on the way home. D.I.Y. mass production of the new album is a must and will reach out towards new fans in hopes of expanding the fan base that has already been well established.
Future plans for 8 Count consist of maximum promotion and touring. With the recent interview done by Skratch Magazine and a clothing sponsorship, many new faces have indulged in the likings of 8 Count and what 8 Count has done musically. With the standards set so high by the competitiveness of the southern California music scene, the band has definitely overcome the creative blocks of being in a band. They pursue the goal of catchy creativity with the mixture of developing salient, harmonizing melodies. “Every band strives for its own individuality, and I believe 8 Count strives for this—and succeeds, blending all the elements of rock’n roll.”

Press Reviews
I met 8count on a bright and sunny day at a park in Glendale. The park was packed with people, so we decided to sit at an empty space on the grass...where we were attacked by bees and drunken tennis players! Beyond the interruptions, the interview was a great success. The members of 8count speak very passionately about the band's accomplishments and future plans. This includes their desire to target new audiences and travel around the country to make new fans.
If you turn the number 8 on its side, it becomes the symbol of infinity. 8count believes that this energy of the never-ending, cyclic process keeps them in "balance." Balance is what holds everything together, the right mentality for being in a band. 8count's music is on a different wavelength than most bands'. At first I couldn't figure out how to characterize the music...but I guess that's because 8count is so unique! I compared the music to the sounds of Home Grown, but they seemed a little offended. Every band strives for its own individuality, and I believe 8count strives for this and succeeds, blending all the elements of rock 'n' roll.
